D.I.Y. - Kitchen Scouring Pad Bird In a Nest Christmas Ornament

Kitchen Scouring Pad Bird In a Nest Christmas Ornament

First you will need.
A glue gun and some glue sticks,
 a metal scouring pad,
 a clothespin and
a craft bird and a few leaves.
(this is a cluster/branch with all of it already attached)

I separated the cluster/branch to see what I had to work with.

Then generously apply the hot glue.

Add the leaves and berries the way you like them to the center of the nest. The bird will hide the center of the unfinished ends.

Glue the bird on with a generous amount of hot glue in the middle of the nest and on top of the unfinished ends.

Apply hot glue down the side of the clothespin.

Glue clothespin sideways to the underside of the bird nest so it will clip on to your tree branch with the bird facing you.

And there you have it!

Thrifty Thursday

Thrifty Thursday... Furniture Find

After many years of one dog and 3 children it was time for a new couch, but a new couch was not in the budget. So we decorated a can with couch pictures cut from flyer's and started to save. A dollar here, five dollars there and even a few coins started to fill the couch can. My husband would say often to us " Why to you torture yourself like this? At that rate is it worth it? That will take you years to save for?" But I didn't mind and neither did the kids who helped me decorate the can.

Well while yard sailing, which is a staplein afrugal family way of life and one of our favorite weekend family events to do and  not with out our wish list that we make in hand so we stay on track with items we need and want, my daughter spots a very pretty Victorian style couch. We pull over and it was in perfect and like new condition. The owner claimed that it just sat in the formal living room. I tell my daughter she could ask how much it was being sold for but do not get her hopes up. It was way to nice to fit our budget and the little amount that was saved in our can. Well she came running back excited and told me the price. I could not believe it. I thought she was WRONG! I told she she was mistaken but to my surprise I WAS MISTAKEN! She was 100% correct.

Are you all ready for the price of this thrifty find! Drum roll please...........................

$25!

Yup that's it! SOLD! We brought it home and it fit perfectly in my living room and all 5 of us fit on it!
 God is good!

What did we do with our old couch and love seat. Well we donated it to a family that was happy to have it that had nothing.

Don't forget to write in your journals during your time with God and count your blessings.
He provides all that you need and his timing is perfect and in his terms.

Set Your Goal. Step one.

Have you ever sat back and just looked around at your home and thought of your life and how it ended up? Do you like it or not? Do you just like some of it and dislike the rest? If you have not thought about it then take some time and just do that.

When I did this I learned that God has placed me in a wonderful marriage with great children. I am able to be a stay at home mother and wife, which I truly adore this lifestyle. But, I am unhappy with the way my house tends to be unkempt. That my ability to let go of the clutter is to difficult  for me. It's like a big black hole sucking me in and draining me of life. It causes arguments with my husband. It causes me to be a hypocrite to my children when I ask them to clean their rooms. It causes me to feel embarrassed and to lie by making up excuses to help "  please excuse the mess" which is a sin. It even causes me to be stressed out and late for events.

This is not what I want! I want to feel happy, comfy and content in my home as well as I know you do too!

But how can this happen? How can I create a home environment that is welcoming,, clean, organized and still have time to sleep and breath?

Well it's easy, I just keep telling myself over and over again. " You need to take baby steps and let it all go that you don't need all these things to simplify and organize." Like the Little Engine that could " I think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can..."

I will do this! You can follow along as I break down each area of a mother's daily life, a homemaker's daily life, a wife's daily life. a woman's daily life and a Godly daily life.
